You tell us which devices and which workloads. We propose a protocol within two business days.
We measure what spec sheets leave out.
Veltra Labs is an independent testing house that measures, compares and reports on how real smartphones handle heat โ sustained performance, surface temperatures, and the trade-offs that spec sheets skip.
๐ By the numbers
๐งช How we work
We log temperature, power draw and frame pacing under repeatable loads โ for minutes, not seconds.
Each device is placed against one or two references from its own class, never against a marketing slide.
You receive a written report, raw data, and a short call if you want to ask us anything.
We are a testing lab, not a review outlet. We do not publish results for any device without the client's written permission, and we do not accept payment for conclusions.
๐ Three phone classes, side by side
Labels are typical for each class โ that's exactly what our full reports quantify.
๐ ๏ธ How a project runs
We run the protocol in a temperature-controlled room. Every run is logged and time-stamped.
You receive a written report, a comparison PDF, and the raw data as CSV โ no NDA gymnastics required.
One 30-minute call is included with every report. Extended support is optional.
๐ Services
Nine testing and reporting services. Add any of them to your quote and request a formal price โ every project is scoped individually.
๐ก๏ธ Sustained Performance Report
A 30-minute sustained-load test on one device. We log clock speed, power and temperature, and chart how far performance drops.
๐ง Thermal Imaging Analysis
Full-frame thermal images of the device surface under three workloads. Includes hotspots, spread pattern, and a short written interpretation.
๐ Side-by-Side Comparison
Two devices, one protocol. We publish a shared chart with aligned axes so the difference is visible rather than inferred.
๐งช Custom Protocol Design
For teams that need a specific workload โ video export, ML inference, long camera sessions. We design and validate the test protocol, then run it.
๐ก๏ธ Thermal Design Review
For hardware teams. We review a device's thermal stack โ materials, spreader layout, chassis design โ and give written recommendations.
โก Charging Profile Report
Charge-curve logging and surface-temperature tracking from 0% to 100%. Includes time-to-peak-throttle and thermal recovery behaviour.
๐ Data Export (CSV / API)
Raw time-series data from any test we've run for you. CSV by default, or a signed-URL API if you need live integration.
๐ฐ Co-Branded Whitepaper
We turn a project into a public-facing whitepaper with your team. Written by us, credited to both parties, subject to fact-check sign-off.
๐ Monthly Retainer
Ongoing access to our bench for up to four devices per month, priority turnaround, and a standing 30-minute call.
Prices are starting points โ final quotes depend on device count, protocol complexity and turnaround. Review your quote when ready.
๐ฌ Client Notes
Short notes from teams and independent reviewers who have worked with us. Published anonymously and with permission.
โ โ โ โ โ
โWe asked for a comparison of our phone against two rivals. What came back was cleaner than anything our internal team had produced.โ
โ Hardware PM, consumer electronics
โ โ โ โ โ
โThe custom protocol design saved us months of internal iteration. The report itself became a talking point with our suppliers.โ
โ Thermal engineer, mobile OEM
โ โ โ โ โ
โTurnaround was honest and the raw data was genuinely useful. The 30-minute call at the end was the best part.โ
โ Reviewer, independent tech outlet
โ โ โ โ โ
โWe kept them on a monthly retainer after the first project. Four devices a month is exactly the cadence we needed.โ
โ Testing lead, accessories brand
โ โ โ โ โ
โNo hype, no hedging. They told us what they could and couldn't measure before we paid anything.โ
โ Founder, small peripherals studio
โ โ โ โ โ
โThe comparison chart went straight into a board presentation. That's how clear it was.โ
โ Director, product strategy
๐งฉ Focus areas
Eight comparison axes we work with. Any one of them can be the whole project, or one part of a larger brief.
๐ก๏ธ Thin vs thick
Volume is the first variable in any thermal comparison.
๐ Flagship vs mid-range
Where the heat goes when the budget is different.
๐ฎ Gaming vs everyday
Sustained load is a different question from a burst.
๐ Foldable vs slab
Two bodies, one chip, very different airflow stories.
๐ Passive vs active
Fans work. They also cost weight, thickness and noise.
๐ก๏ธ Metal vs plastic
Not "better or worse" โ different by design intent.
๐ Sustained vs peak
Which one matters depends on what your users actually do.
๐ง Software vs hardware
Where the tuning ends and the parts begin.
โ FAQ
Do you publish results without my permission?
No. Unless you sign off on a co-branded whitepaper, everything we produce for you stays confidential. We don't name clients by default.
How long does a project take?
Simple reports run in 3โ5 business days. Comparisons and custom protocols usually take 7โ14 business days. Retainers run continuously.
Can you test a device I don't own?
Yes. We source retail units through official channels and pass the purchase price at cost. You keep the device afterward if you want it.
Do you test for safety certification?
No. We measure behaviour under load and write reports. Regulatory certification is a separate process done by accredited labs โ we can point you to one.
What do I actually receive?
A written report in PDF, the raw time-series data as CSV, thermal images where relevant, and a 30-minute call to discuss findings.
Can you compare against a rival phone?
Yes โ that's most of what we do. Bring your device and one or two references. We won't accept a brief that asks us to "find" a specific conclusion.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, ours is short and standard. We can also work under yours if it's reasonable โ just send it during scoping.
How do I request a formal quote?
Add the services you want to your quote and use the request button. We reply within two business days.
๐ About Veltra Labs
Veltra Labs was founded in 2024 as an independent testing house for mobile thermal behaviour. We exist because spec sheets are honest about peak numbers and quiet about everything else: what happens after twenty minutes, how warm the surface gets, and whether two phones with the same chip actually behave the same way.
Who we work with: hardware teams who need a neutral second opinion, accessories brands who need to understand what they're mounting on, and independent reviewers who want clean comparison data. We don't work with anyone who asks us to reach a predetermined conclusion.
What we don't do: we're not a certification body, not a repair service, and not a review outlet. We measure, compare, and write it down.

โ ๏ธ Disclaimer
Not a substitute for official documentation
Where safety matters, the manufacturer's documentation and formal certification take precedence over anything we publish.
No repair advice
We do not disassemble devices or recommend that others do. Self-repairs can void warranties and create safety risks.
Scope of measurements
Every report states its test conditions. Extrapolating our results to other workloads, other ambient temperatures, or other devices is not supported by the data.
Confidentiality
Client projects stay confidential unless a co-branded publication is explicitly agreed. Messages sent to us are read only by the lab team.
